Two arrested for youth’s murder

LAHORE: Two suspects were arrested after a young man was shot in the Harbanspura area on Tuesday.

Identified as Saad Nadeem, the young man was the son of journalist Iqbal Nadeem.

According to initial reports, the unidentified motorcyclists intercepted Saad and his father near the Journalists Housing Society.

A police official said Saad was nominated in a murder case and he was released on bail a few months back.

Saad and his father were going to appear in a court in connection with the same murder case when the attackers opened fire and injured Saad critically before fleeing.

Saad was rushed to hospital where he died. Later, police arrested two suspects.

Operations DIG Faisal Kamran identified the suspects as Ubaid and Niaz, saying that raids were being conducted to arrest the third suspect.

An FIR was lodged on the complaint of Iqbal Nadeem.
