GUJRANWALA, July 15: The Gujranwala Electric Power Company (Gepco) on Saturday restored electricity to Jalalpur Jattan and Gujrat district after completing maintenance work.

Reports said power supply to these areas was suspended when about 40 poles fell down during a strong windstorm and rain.

On receiving information, Gepco chief-executive Brig Saifullah Khalid visited the affected areas and reviewed the maintenance work. He expressed his satisfaction over the work and appreciated line staff for restoring power supply within a few hours.

He said the company was making its best to provide smooth power supply to consumers despite various complications.

NO-TRUST MOTION: Members of union council No 158/3 Kamoki, including women councillors, will move a no-confidence motion against the nazim as he has lost confidence of the house.

This was stated by naib nazim Abdul Razzaq while speaking at a news conference along with councillors here on Saturday.

He alleged that nazim Mubashar Ansari was involved in serious irregularities while members were not being provided development funds.
