Justice Rizvi to act as Federal Constitutional Court CJ

KARACHI: The senior puisne judge of the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) Justice Syed Hasan Azhar Rizvi on Tuesday took oath as acting chief justice of the FCC. He will act in the absence of incumbent FCC Chief Justice Aminuddin Khan, who is currently abroad.
Justice Mohammad Karim Khan Agha of the FCC administered the oath to Justice Rizvi in a simple and dignified ceremony held at the Supreme Court Karachi Registry.
The oath-taking ceremony was attended by the acting Chief Justice of Supreme Court Munib Akhtar, Justice Mohammad Shafi Siddiqui of the SC and officials of the FCC and SC.
A court house for the FCC in the provincial metropolis has recently been setup within the Supreme Court’s Karachi Registry.
According to the statement issued here by the FCC, Justice Aminuddin Khan is currently on an official visit to St Petersburg in Russia to attend an international legal conference aimed at promoting judicial cooperation, exchange of legal expertise and dialogue on contemporary constitutional and legal issues.
