32 teachers suspended over budget protest

QUETTA: The Balochistan Education Department has suspended a total of 32 teachers and staff members across the province for allegedly taking an active part in the protest movement of the Balochistan Grand Alliance (BGA) and disrupting academic activities on the day of the provincial budget session.

According to an official statement issued by the department, 26 teachers and employees who participated in the protest during the budget session and were later arrested by police have been suspended under the Balochistan Employees Efficiency and Discipline Act, 2011.

The statement said the suspended employees belong to several districts, including Jhal Magsi, Kachhi, Quetta, Zhob, Loralai and Pishin.

In a separate action, six more teachers from Pishin were suspended for allegedly closing schools and disrupting educational activities on the call of the BGA.
