KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Department and a civilian intelligence agency jointly carried out a raid and arrested a suspected terrorist affiliated with outlawed Tehreek Taliban Pakistan (TTP) for allegedly planning a suicide attack in the metropolis.

A CTD spokesperson identified the held suspect as Salman alias Abu Huraira and described him as an important member of a TTP sleeper cell.

The official claimed that the CT recovered a “suicide jacket and maps of sensitive installations” from him.

He said that a senior TTP figure, Molvi Mukhlis Yar, had sent the held suspect and other terrorists to carry out “major suicide bombing” in Karachi.
