KARACHI: The Second Floor (T2F), one of the leading cultural spaces in the city, has announced that it is moving to a larger venue after closing operations at its current premises on June 15.

In an Instagram post, the T2F team said they hope to resume their programmes at the new premises, located at Plot No. IL-02-A2, Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP), Korangi, by the start of August.

Founded in 2007 by Sabeen Mahmud, T2F has served as a platform for art, literature, music and public dialogue for nearly two decades.

The T2F team thanked its audiences, artists, writers and supporters for their support, encouragement and participation over the years. It said the loyalty of the community had enabled the space to grow and continue despite limitations in infrastructure and capacity.

The organisation said the need for a larger and better-equipped venue had long been felt. The expanded venue will allow it to increase its programmes, improve outreach and host larger events.

The new facility includes two indoor auditoria, an open-air performance space, a cafe, an art gallery and modern technical infrastructure.
