US President Donald Trump has asserted that Washington did not negotiate with Tehran out of desperation, but rather Iran did.

“They are finished!” he writes on Truth Social.

“We’ll play out the 60 days. They get no money, not 10 cents!” Trump adds, referring to the 60-day negotiation period towards a final deal outlined in the recently signed memorandum of understanding between the two countries.

In another post, Trump has reiterated his claim that the war “diminished Iran”, leaving them without an air force, navy, radar and other military capabilities.

“Yet the Dumocrats [sic] say that Iran is better off now than it was four months ago,” he writes, referring to the Democratic Party.
