ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and Governor Sindh Syed Mohammad Nihal Hashmi on Tuesday reaffirmed the importance of strengthening democratic institutions, enhancing the role of Parliament and continuing collective efforts to address public concerns and promote national progress.

During a meeting held at the Parliament House, both leaders held a detailed exchange of views on the overall political situation of the country, economic outlook, the federal budget, democratic stability, and matters related to public welfare.

Mr Gilani congratulated Nihal Hashmi on assuming the office of Sindh governor and conveyed his best wishes for success in his new responsibilities.

He expressed confidence that the governor would continue serving the people in accordance with democratic values and constitutional principles.

Governor Sindh Nihal Hashmi paid tribute to Chairman Senate Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani’s political wisdom, parliamentary experience, and long-standing public service.

He said he had learnt a great deal from the Senate chairman’s experience and acknowledged that Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani and his family’s political, social, and spiritual contributions are widely respected and commendable.
