Man who threw acid on girl held

SUKKUR: The Ghotki police claimed to have arrested, in wounded condition, a suspect who threw acid on a 17-year-old girl in the Kandh Mahar area.

According to the police, suspect Miandad Mahar had thrown acid on the teenage victim because she was found in possession of a mobile phone. As a result of the attack, the young woman had suffered 70 per cent burns on her face, eyes, chest and arms.

Police further stated that a case had been registered and swift action had been taken against the accused.
