GUJRAT: Five suspects were killed by ‘the firing of their own accomplices’ in the Gujranwala area on Sunday, according to police.

The officials, however, didn’t disclose how and why the suspects were killed by firing of their own mysterious and unknown accomplices.

The incidents occurred in the precincts of Wahndo, Gakhar Mandi and Garjakh police stations.

A spokesman for Gujranwala police said two suspected robbers, Muhammad Shahzad and Abid Ali, were killed by the firing of their own accomplices in the Wahndo police area. The deceased, he alleged, were wanted in 30 cases of robbery in different districts of central Punjab.

Similarly, the two other robbers, Ameer Hamza and Nadeem Masih, were killed by the alleged firing of their own accomplices in the precincts of Gakhar Mandi Police Station.

These criminals were wanted in 25 cases and were killed at a police picket that was attacked by them along with the accomplices who fled the scene.

The spokesman said Salahuddin, who was wanted in a case of encounter with the CCD police, was also killed by the firing of his three accomplices when they attacked at a police raiding party in the precincts of Gakhar Mandi Police Station.
