DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Unknown robbers looted the passengers of a bus travelling from Rawalpindi to Dera Ismail Khan near the Abdul Khail area on the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) route on Saturday night.

Armed men held the passengers at gunpoint after intercepting the bus and carried out the robbery, which continued for nearly an hour.

Police said all passengers, including women, children and elderly individuals, were subjected to a search during the incident. The robbers allegedly snatched cash, mobile phones and jewellery from the passengers before fleeing the scene.

No casualties were reported in the incident. However, passengers were left traumatised following the prolonged armed robbery.

Police said that they have registered a case and further investigation into the incident is underway.
