ISLAMABAD: The Embassy of Denmark on Friday celebrated Danish Constitution Day with a reception held here, bringing together representatives from government, the diplomatic community, development organisations, civil society, academia, and the private sector to recognise the strong and growing partnership between Denmark and Pakistan.

Held under the theme ‘Denmark & Pakistan: Partners for a Sustainable Future’, the event reflected on the longstanding relationship between the two countries and their shared commitment to addressing global and local challenges through collaboration, innovation, and mutual respect.

A statement issued by the embassy said over the years, Denmark and Pakistan had built a broad-based partnership spanning sustainable development, climate action, trade, governance, water resource management, renewable energy, and people-to-people exchanges.

This cooperation continued to evolve, increasingly driven by shared interests, joint solutions, and a common ambition to create sustainable and resilient societies.

Speaking at the event, Danish Ambassador Maja Derrous Mortensen highlighted the importance of partnerships in addressing complex challenges and advancing sustainable development.

“The relationship between Denmark and Pakistan is built on trust, shared values, and a commitment to finding solutions together. As we look to the future, our partnership will continue to be guided by innovation, sustainability, and a belief that lasting progress is achieved through collaboration.”

The reception provided an opportunity to celebrate existing partnerships while exploring new avenues for cooperation among public institutions, businesses, development partners, researchers, and young leaders.

Through dialogue and exchange, the event underscored the importance of collective action in creating opportunities for future generations.

As Denmark marked Constitution Day, the embassy reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening ties with Pakistan and supporting partnerships that contributed to sustainable growth, climate resilience, innovation, and prosperity for both countries.
