ISLAMABAD: A contingent of capital police is likely to depart for Azad Kashmir to strengthen the local law enforcers keeping in view the demonstration call by Joint Awami Action Committee (JAAC), police said.
The government of Azad Jammu and Kashmir had requested force from the capital police in the wake of the protest call given by the committee.
In response, the capital police arranged a force consisting of 1,505 officers and officials.
The force included a deputy inspector general, two senior superintendents and four superintendents, all from the Security Division.

Besides, eight assistant and deputy superintendents of police, 16 inspectors, 22 sub-inspectors, 70 assistant sub-inspectors, and 1,382 constables are part of the force.
Out of the total 100 personnel assembled from SWAT, 85 were from CTD, 270 CPC, 50 from Safe City, 217 from Security Division, 656 from Operations Division, 50 each from Logistics Division and Special Branch, and 20 from the Special Branch.
The force is equipped with complete anti-riot gear, reflecting jackets, rain coats and other necessary items.
The officers and officials have been asked to reach the Police Lines Headquarters for departure to Azad Kashmir.
The inspector general of police AJK had requested a force to effectively deal with the situation arising out of the protest call and long march given by the Joint Public Action Committee on June 9.
In addition to the personnel available in the districts and divisions of AJK, additional personnel were required from the civil armed force and police forces outside the Azad Kashmir.
In view of the situation, 60pc of the personnel will be armed with anti-riot-gear, including teargas and 40pc will be equipped with weapons and ammunition. The force will be given for a fortnight from June 7 to June 21.
The AJK police had sought 14,000 officers and officials, 6,000 personnel from the Federal Constabulary, 5,000 from Rangers, 2,000 from the capital police and 1,000 from Sindh police.
