Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has highlighted “Pakistan’s constructive and responsible role in promoting regional peace, dialogue and stability” in a meeting with the country’s ambassador-designate to Iran, Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, ahead of his departure to Tehran, the Foreign Office (FO) says.
According to the FO, Dar expressed confidence that the ambassador-designate would make a “valuable contribution towards further strengthening the enduring partnership between the two brotherly countries”.
“Recalling the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and fraternal bonds between Pakistan and Iran, DPM/FM reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to further expanding bilateral cooperation in all spheres, particularly in trade, connectivity, people-to-people exchanges, and regional collaboration,” the FO says.
Further, he emphasised the importance of sustaining the positive momentum in bilateral engagement through close coordination and mutual understanding.
