LAHORE: Former patron-in-chief of Istehkam-i-Pakistan Party (IPP), Jahangir Khan Tareen on Thursday inaugurated a state-of-the-art computer laboratory at the Government Islamia College for Women, Cooper Road, here.

The computer lab has been established with the support of Mr Tareen’s foundation to provide female students with access to modern IT education and digital learning facilities.

The college currently has more than 5,000 students and over 187 faculty members.

The computer lab will provide students with advanced IT facilities and digital learning opportunities.

Mr Tareen said: “Computerisation is now a basic right for girls in today’s world. The education of female students is essential not only for their bright future but also for their economic development.”

He said his foundation would financially support the students securing admission offers by international universities. Punjab DPI Colleges Ansar Azhar and the college Principal Dr Fauzia Naz also spoke.
