A major twist in New Titans #34 from DC Comics sees Victor Stone split into two beings — his human self and a fully sentient Cyborg. The mechanised version is revealed as the mastermind behind an illusion trapping the Titans, created to protect them from greater threats.

The storyline builds on recent events that restored Victor’s human body while giving his cybernetic half independent form and power, turning it into a dangerous new force.

First introduced in 1980, Cyborg has long been a core member of the Teen Titans, but this transformation marks one of his most dramatic changes yet.
