THE Edhi Foundation recently suspended its services in the federal capital after its ambulance control room in Aabpara, operational for the last four decades, faced trouble. The late Abdul Sattar Edhi, founder of the charitable organisation, had devoted his entire life to serving the suffering humanity. His organisation has been globally recognised, including the Guinness World Records, as the largest volunteer ambulance network in the world. It was rather disheartening to see such an institution facing issues.

The Edhi ambulance service has always proven its unmatched commitment. Whether responding to bomb blasts, floods or earthquakes, its volunteers are often the first to arrive, risking their own lives to rescue the injured. The Edhi service transcends all divides and reflects the very essence of humanity.

Nations, indeed, earn their respect and dignity not merely through economic or political strength, but by honouring compassion and supporting individuals who dedicate their lives to serving others.
