MoU signed to set up police Sahulat hospital desk

HARIPUR: Toensure transparency, security and easy access of relevant parties to the medico-legal reports and medical related documentation, the Haripur police and District Headquarter Hospital here on Wednesday signed a Memorandum of Understanding at a ceremony held at the office of the district police officer.

The medical superintendent DHQ Hospital, Dr Munawar Khan Afridi, and DPO Shafi Ullah Khan Gandapur performed the signing of MOU while the deputy medical superintendent, Dr Saira Naseem, DSP Headquarter Tanveer Khan, incharge Police Facilitation Centre ASI Kainat Syed and inc-harge police driving school and focal person ASI Hina Imdad were in attendance on this occasion.

Under the roles and responsibilities of the parties, the DHQ’ administration has committed to allocate two rooms with required utilities in the vicinity of Haripur Trauma Centre, extend coordination and administrative support for smooth functioning of PSHD and facilitate coordination in medico-legal and emergency matters related to police assistance.

The police as party one would deploy trained and dedicated police personnel to run the PSHD for the facility of public 24/7, arrange necessary operational equipment like computers, furniture and IT facilities and ensure that all services for which the desk was being established, were provided to the relevant parties in line with provisions of the law.

Speaking to journalists on this occasion DPO Shafi Ullah Khan Gandapur said that under the vision of IGP Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, all medico-legal records, reports and cases will be fully computerised, ensuring the security, transparency and timely availability of records.

This initiative, the DPO said will save time and resources of relevant parties especially those visiting police stations and hospitals repeatedly from the remote areas.
