Man shot dead in S. Waziristan

SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: A man was killed and his nephew injured when unidentified armed men opened fire on them in the Shamak Raghzai area of Makin tehsil in Upper South Waziristan district, police and local sources said.

They said that the assailants opened indiscriminate fire on Khan Badshah, a resident of Ladha tehsil, killing him on the spot, and leaving his nephew, identified as Shoaib, injured.

The injured was rushed to a hospital, where his condition was stated to be critical.

The attackers escaped the scene.

The motive behind the killing could not be known.

The police registered a case and launched an investigation.
