Kidnap case registered after two days

OKARA: Police on Tuesday registered a kidnapping case against unknown suspects two days after a woman along with her two teenage children went missing in village Qasim kay Mahar in Basirpur.

In his complaint to the Basirpur Police, Sharafat Ali said that his wife Khalida Parveen along with their son Junaid and daughter Irum went to the Government Girls High School Mohallah Dars but did not return.

The police registered a case of suspected abduction against unidentified suspect(s) and were investigating.

CRACKDOWN: The district police claimed to have arrested 73 criminals during the last 24 hours during an ongoing special drive under the ‘Crime Free Punjab’ of the Government of Punjab.

The police of different stations, including the City A and City B Division, Dipalpur Saddar and Chorasta Mian Khan, reported to have nabbed 47 proclaimed offenders and others involved and wanted in various crimes of cattle lifting, drugs, narcotics, bikes theft and illicit weapons.

Police claimed the arrested alleged criminals included four targeted offenders, six narcotics dealers, six motorcycle lifters and five involved in illicit weapons selling.

Furthermore, police claimed to have recovered Rs2.1 million cash, 12 motorcycles, 11 cattle, 50 litres of alcohol and six weapons.

The arrested suspects included Ahmad Fayyaz alias Fayazi, Azam, Amir alias Amri, Allahyar, Adeel and Rizwan among others.
