Woman, toddler killed in separate incidents

TAXILA: Two separate tragic incidents related to severe weather and unsafe infrastructure claimed the lives of a woman and a toddler, while two men sustained injuries in different parts of Attock district on Monday.

According to rescue sources, a woman died after lightning struck a motorcycle near Pindigheb. Her husband, Abdul Aziz, a resident of Mohallah Hari Wala, Pindigheb, was injured in the incident while they were returning home from Kot Fateh Khan near the area of Sughir. He was shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Pindigheb for treatment.

In another incident, in Hazro’s village, Adalzai near Haroon Chowk, a wall suddenly collapsed on 38-year-old Khalid and his one-and-a-half-year-old son, Mohammad Riyan, as they were passing through a street.

Local residents and Rescue 1122 teams launched rescue efforts and shifted the injured to the hospital. However, the child succumbed to his injuries, while Khalid remained under treatment at THQ Hospital Hazro.
