GWADAR: A meeting of the Gwadar Development Authority (GDA) on Sunday decided that mega development projects worth around Rs280 billion will be launched in phases under the second phase of the Gwadar Master Plan (2025-35).

The plan aims to turn Gwadar into a modern, smart, eco-friendly and globally competitive economic hub port city of the country.

The meeting, which presided was over by GDA Director General Moeenur Rehman Khan reviewed, and finalised projects for Gwadar’s upcoming 10-year development programme under the Gwadar Smart Port City Master Plan.

Briefing the meeting, Deputy Director (Town Planning) Abdul Razzaq said the GDA is preparing a comprehensive 10-year development programme under the PC-I which will first be submitted to the provincial government and later to the federal government for approval.

He expressed the hope that the programme would be included in the 2026-27 financial year. He said the programme would integrate multiple ongoing development initiatives, including GDA’s existing business plan, with the main objective of ensuring full and effective implementation of the Gwadar Master Plan.
