ISLAMABAD: In a tribute to mothers, Senate Chairman Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani has said that a mother is a profound blessing from Almighty Allah and an enduring symbol of love, compassion and selfless sacrifice.

“A mother is not only the foundation of a family but also plays a central role in the formation of a civilised, dignified and strong society,” Mr Gilani said in his special message on the occasion of Mother’s Day.

The Senate chairman said the day, observed across the world to honour mothers and acknowledge their invaluable services, serves as a reminder that a mother’s love is selfless, pure and one of humanity’s greatest strengths.

He remarked that a mother’s lap is the first institution of learning where a person receives lessons in love, morality, tolerance and humanity.

He further stated that mothers hold an exceptionally high status in Pakistani society, while religious and social values also emphasise respect, care and obedience towards parents, especially mothers.

He said honouring mothers, caring for them and acknowledging their sacrifices should not remain confined to just one day, but should instead become a permanent part of daily life.

Chairman Senate Gilani said all mothers striving for the better upbringing, education and bright future of their children deserve the utmost respect of the entire nation.

Paying tribute to the mothers of the nation, he said the role of mothers has always remained fundamental to the country’s progress and stability.
