LAHORE: As Pakistan celebrates the first anniversary of the successful operation against external aggression, educational institutions across the province on Thursday organised seminars and rallies under the banner of Jashan-i-Marka-i-Haq to commemorate the nation’s military preparedness, strategic capabilities and unprecedented unity.
Addressing the closing ceremony of a three-day All Pakistan Media Fest at Punjab University’s Faisal Auditorium, VC Prof Dr Muhammad Ali Shah termed the four-day celebrations as “Days of Victory”, marking an important milestone in the country’s history.
“When India attacked Pakistan, no one among us was afraid. In the ‘battle of truth’, Pakistan shot down 11 enemy aircraft through intellectual capability, and those who brought them down were graduates of Pakistani universities,” he said, adding that Pakistan saved the world from a third world war.
The VC emphasised that Pakistan’s positive image is being highlighted globally and even US President Donald Trump repeatedly mentioned the country’s name.
Meanwhile, the University of Home Economics also organised a ceremony where a contingent of women police officers presented a guard of honour in recognition of the armed forces’ sacrifices.
On the occasion, retired Air Vice Marshal Sajid Habib said that successful execution of modern warfare strategies had strengthened Pakistan’s operational capabilities.
In south Punjab, the Women University Multan organised a rally, led by MNA Ali Qasim Gillani and Registrar Dr Deeba Shahwar, with students carrying placards.
Addressing the gathering, Gillani said, “It is a moment of profound pride as we honour the courage demonstrated during this historic operation. The heroic contributions of both the Pakistan Army and PAF will be remembered for generations”.
VC Prof Dr Uzma Quraishi remarked that Marka-e-Haq stood as a shining chapter in Pakistan’s history, urging students to emerge as responsible ambassadors of the country.
The ceremonies concluded with participants reaffirming their support for national unity, institutional strength and the role of youth in the country’s development and security.
