KARACHI: An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday remanded the son of a former senior police officer and his accomplice in police custody in a case pertaining to allegedly firing on an official of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) following a road accident in Clifton.
According to the police, FBR inspector Shah Mir Lashari was shot at and wounded by Agha Sher, son of former SSP Agha Asghar, in a road rage incident.
On Monday, the investigating officer of the case brought prime suspect Agha Sher and his accomplice Najeebullah before the administrative judge of the ATCs for remand.
The IO informed the court that the suspects were apprehended on May 2, and that he had secured their transit remand from a special duty magistrate a day earlier.
He added that Najeebullah was allegedly involved in hiding the double-cabin (Revo) vehicle used in the crime.
He requested the court to remand them in police custody until May 17.
After hearing the IO, the court remanded them in police custody till May 11 and directed the IO to produce them on May 12 along with progress report before the court.
