QUETTA: Balochistan Health Secretary Mujeebur Rehman has confirmed the temporary shifting of cardiac equipment from Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital, Sariab, to the Balochistan Institute of Cardiology and Vascular Diseases (BICVD), stating that the move was approved in a high-level meeting.

In a statement issued late on Sunday, he said that information circulating on social media regarding the shifting of equipment at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital is contrary to facts.

He clarified that upon receiving reports of the transfer, he immediately sought detailed information about the matter.

Explaining the decision, the secretary said that, following formal approval in a high-level meeting, cardiac equipment from Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital is being temporarily shifted to BICVD. He added that procurement of new and advanced equipment for BICVD has already been completed, and delivery is expected within the next two to three months. Once the new equipment arrives, it will be reinstalled at Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Hospital to ensure continuity of cardiac services and to avoid any inconvenience to the public.

He said that, contrary to misleading claims circulating on social media, no hospital facilities are being removed.
