DAMASCUS: A Syrian military spokesman said today [May 3] that “Israeli” forces resumed the attack on Arab inhabitants of the demilitarized zone north-west of Lake Galilee at 8 o’clock (local time) this morning. The attack was still in progress at 2 o’clock this afternoon… . The “Israelis” shelled the hills in the demilitarized zone with heavy artillery mortars and rifles… . At 6 o’clock yesterday afternoon, an “Israeli” force resumed the aggression started in the morning with a one hour bombardment… . Three “Israeli” planes raided the demilitarized area after the attack. The spokesman denied the “Israeli” claim that Syrian regular forces had penetrated the demilitarized zone. He said that Arab inhabitants had delivered to the United Nations Observers military uniforms bearing the emblem of “Israel’s” Army.

[Meanwhile, Dawn’s staff correspondent reports that] Pakistan has asked Bharat to probe … the forgery of Pakistan currency notes in that country… . In a memorandum … the Pakistan Government … have quoted instances where forged … notes were seized by Pakistan Customs while being imported.
