MOHMAND: A suspected cross-border quadcopter strike from Afghanistan wounded two Pakistani personnel late on Friday, underscoring renewed security concerns along the volatile frontier in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Mohmand district.

Officials said a quadcopter targeted a security post in Baizai tehsil at around 9:30pm on May 1.

The injured personnel were identified as Lance Naik Kashif and Sepoy Shoaib.

Both individuals were promptly evacuated and provided medical treatment at a nearby facility. Authorities described their condition as stable.

Security forces swiftly secured the area following the incident and initiated a search and clearance operation.

Surveillance and defensive measures have since been reinforced across the border region.

While no group has claimed responsibility, officials indicated that an investigation is underway to determine the origin and intent of the attack.
