District admin asked to complete projects by June

RAWALPINDI: District administration on Tuesday asked the departments concerned to complete ongoing development projects by June without compromising quality of construction material.

An important meeting was held under the joint chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema and MNA Tahira Aurangzeb regarding the ongoing development projects in Rawalpindi.

The meeting was attended by members of the national and provincial assemblies from Rawalpindi district, heads of relevant departments and officials.

During the meeting, a detailed briefing was given on the ongoing development projects in the city and across the district.

Officials of the departments concerned briefed the meeting about the current progress on the projects, the challenges faced and the steps taken to resolve them.

The deputy commissioner directed the departments concerned that all development projects should be completed as per the stipulated timeline and no compromise should be made on the quality of work.

Speaking on the occasion, Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb said that public welfare projects are the top priority of the government and their timely completion will provide better facilities to the citizens. She also stressed the need to further strengthen effective communication between elected representatives and the district administration.

It was decided in the meeting that all relevant departments would further improve coordination so that the pace of the projects could be accelerated. In addition, special measures were also considered for redressal of public grievances and transparent monitoring of projects.

Dr. Hassan Waqar Cheema directed the concerned officials to regularly monitor development projects and no negligence or delay of any kind would be tolerated, so that the process of development of Rawalpindi could be made more rapid and effective.
