QUETTA: A young man gunned down his father over a minor dispute in Khilji Colony of the Sariab area here on Wednesday.

Police said the tragic incident occurred following a dispute between Haji Toor and his son, Mohammad Ayub, which escalated into firing.

The accused allegedly opened fire on his father with an automatic weapon, killing him on the spot before fleeing the scene. Police reached the site after receiving information about the incident and shifted the body to Civil Hospital.

Doctors said Haji Toor sustained multiple bullet injuries, which caused his death.

Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation after taking the weapon used in the incident into custody.
