SWABI: A man was killed allegedly by his teenage son over a domestic issue in the limits of Kalu Khan police station here on Monday.

Police spokesperson Liaqat Ali told Dawn that Arab Ali, a resident of Ahad Khan, filed a report at Kalu Khan police station that his brother Gohar Ali was shot dead inside his house.

During initial investigation, Liaqat came to know that Gohar was shot dead by his own son, Saud Khan, 18, with a firearm for unknown reasons.

However, police said that both clashed over some domestic issues. Police have arrested Saud and recovered a pistol, used in the crime, from him.

Meanwhile, a woman was killed when a motorcycle she was riding along with her 12-year-old nephew collided with a tractor trolley here on Monday.

The victim was identified as Robina Naz, 45. She died instantly.

Her nephew Rehman Khan was injured in the accident.

Also in the day, a woman was killed and her husband was injured when their motorcycle collided with tractor trolley here on Monday. The woman died on the spot while her husband was injured. The couple hailed from Rustam village of Mardan district.

GRANT: The district Zakat department distributed cheques of Rs8.4 million as wedding grant among deserving women and Rs20 million more would be distributed soon, said a press release.

In this connection, a ceremony was arranged that was attended by women, their families and officials of Zakat department.

The district chairman of Zakat and other members of Zakat committee, Syed Inayat Ali Shah Bacha, Syed Mohammad Arif, Mohammad Arshad, Mohammad Zubair and Syed Arif Shah also attended the ceremony.

Cheques were handed over to 42 deserving women, belonging to different areas of the district. More cheques will be distributed among 100 deserving women.
