QUETTA: PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari on Tuesday said sustainable development and public prosperity in Balochistan remained among the party’s top priorities, while also addressing other key challenges facing the province.
He made the remarks during a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti in Islamabad.
Party officials said the two leaders discussed the overall political situation in the province, development strategy and progress on ongoing projects.
Chief Minister Bugti briefed Mr Bhutto-Zardari on development schemes, public welfare initiatives and the law and order situation. He also shared updates on measures to improve infrastructure, education, healthcare, communication networks and the development of the coastal belt.
The chief minister said the provincial government was taking priority-based measures to ensure that development benefits reached remote and underdeveloped areas. He added that transparency and effective monitoring mechanisms were being strengthened to ensure proper utilisation of resources.
Mr Bhutto-Zardari appreciated the pace of development work in the province and reaffirmed the party’s commitment to supporting Balochistan at the federal level to help resolve its issues and ensure timely completion of projects.
Both leaders agreed to intensify joint efforts for socio-economic uplift, job creation for youth and resolution of public concerns in the province.
