DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Section 144 was extended in several parts of Dera Ismail Khan district on Saturday, with complete restrictions on people’s movement in specified areas, as part of measures taken by the district administration to maintain law and order.

According to a notification issued by the deputy commissioner, the restrictions were imposed to ensure public safety and prevent any untoward incident.

Additional law enforcement personnel were deployed in sensitive areas, while monitoring was intensified during the period of enforcement.

The order covered the Tank Road stretch from Tariq Shaheed to Bhagwal, along with Kulachi, Hathala, Kot Attal and Garah Abdullah. Movement was also suspended on several link roads, including Tikwarah-Hathala, Pota Badh, Kanori-Garah Mohabbat, Chehkan village to Darbari, and Pota Kot Isa Khan.

While officials did not disclose specific details regarding the security concerns, residents were urged to cooperate with the authorities. Routine life and commercial activities in the affected areas remained partially disrupted by the restrictions.
