Currency dealer held

LAHORE: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has arrested a suspect involved in illegal currency business.

According to the FIA Corporate Crime Circle Lahore, suspect Asif Khan was apprehended during a raid conducted on Bedon Road here on Saturday.

The suspect was involved in hawala/hundi and illegal currency exchange activities, it said and added Rs10.1 million were recovered from him.

“A mobile phone and other evidence related to hawala/hundi and illegal currency exchange were also seized. The suspect has been taken into custody and investigation is underway,” it said.
