Another rape suspect’s ‘pistol goes off’ in his trousers

BAHAWALPUR: Tibba Sultanpur police in Vehari district arrested in an injured condition the suspect who had allegedly raped a minor girl at Chak 124/WB on Friday.

Just like many incidents in the recent past, the suspect’s pistol went off, injuring his genitals.

According to the police, the suspect had on Thursday allegedly raped a five-year-old girl when she was coming back to her home after purchasing candies.

According to the FIR registered on the complaint of the child’s father , the suspect allegedly dragged her forcibly to his drawing room and raped her there.

The suspect fled when the people gathered on hearing her screams.

Tibba Sultanpur police on a tip-off raided his hideout and he attempted to flee. While running away, he fell down and his pistol went off in his trousers. Police heard the gunshot.

When they reached him, he was found in an injured condition.

After arrest he was shifted to hospital for treatment. His 30-bore pistol was recovered from him.

CONVICTED: A Dunyapur court in Lodhran district handed down life imprisonment along with fine on a woman acid attacker.

Rukhsana Bibi, on June 19, 2025, threw acid on one Abid due to enmity at Madina Colony in the limits of Jallah Arian Police Station in Lodhran district. The CTD had solved the mystery of the case with geo-fencing and modern technology. They registered a case against Rukhsana and arrested her.

Abid later succumbed to acid burns and the Crime Control Department Lodhran converted the FIR into a murder case.

On Friday, the court awarded life imprisonment to the woman and imposed a Rs1m fine on her .

ACCIDENT: A man and his wife were run over by a tractor-trolley at Tibbi Sohrab in the suburbs of Lodhran district.

Haji Mithoo (65) and his wife Hajiran were riding on a motorcycle when they suddenly fell on the road and a tractor-trolley coming from behind run them over and killed them on the spot. The rescuers shifted their bodies to hospital .

DOGS: The pack of stray dogs mauled eight persons, including five children, during the past two days in Gaggo Mandi city and its suburbs.

The victims were identified as Zeeshan (2), Maria (9), Amir Hamza (8), Kashf (12) Mahar Khan (11) Shehzad (40), Sarfraz (50) and Jamil (50). The stray dogs’ attacks were mostly in Gaggo Mandi and its suburban locality of Basti Muahmmadpura.

The reports claimed that the injured after treatment at the Rural Health Centre (RHC) Gaggo were sent back to their homes.
