KARACHI, June 17: Low profile Farhan Noor exhibited one of the best performance of his career when he toppled third seed Abu Saim 4-3 in the 10th Style ranking snooker tournament at Karachi Gymkhana on Saturday.

Farhan, who the other day lost opener to Imran Qamar, staged a remarkable comeback from 1-3 down to turn the table on fancied player.

The scores were: 0-57, 55-41, 20-84, 37-70, 73-49, 80-8, 49-45.

In yet another surprise, Imtiaz Tipu, the 17th seed, continued his giant killing performance when he conjured up second successive victory by handing 4-3 defeat to eighth seed, Vishan Gir.

Tipu, who got the better of former world champion, Mohammad Yousuf, 4-1 on Friday was home 25-52, 51-24, 31-55, 83-40, 46-63, 62-24, 65-38.

He now meets Mohammad Sadiq in the last league match of group “H” on Sunday.

Low ranked Mesam Zaidi also pulled off a upset when he carved out 4-3 win against fifth seed Sohail Shehzad.

Top seed Khurram Agha earned full points by getting a walk over against Raja Rashid.

Second seed Imran Shehzad chalked up a convincing 4-0 victory Minhas Malik the scores being 71-23, 77-13, 77-0, 70-39.

The league matches concludes on Sunday.
