NAROWAL: Four persons died and six others injured in a collision between a truck and a passenger van on Muridke Road on Thursday.

A spokesperson for Sheikhupura Rescue 1122 says that a caller from Kot Abdullah stop, Bhagodial told the emergency service that a truck and a passenger van collided due to speeding on Narowal-Muridke road.

The spokesperson said that acting on the call, Rescue 1122 teams, along with vehicles, immediately reached the spot and rescued the injured persons from the van with the help of locals.

In the accident, Komal (22), Rabia (21), Sarwar (35) and Waseem (28) died on the spot due to their critical condition, he said. The rescuers shifted the four bodies to the hospital.

The injured persons including, Asma Bibi (42), Zarqa Bibi (27), one-year-old Haram Fatima, two-year-old Zaeem and Amna Bibi (23), were provided first aid and shifted to the hospital.

Local police also reached the spot and started legal procedure.

According to the rescuers, the condition of two of the injured persons is said to be critical.
