RAWALPINDI: Italian Ambassador Marilena Ermelin on Saturday visited historical Railway Museum at Golra Railway Station.

She visited different sections of the railways Station and museum. The Railway officials also took the Italian Ambassador to the historical salon dedicated to the founder of Pakistan Mohammad Ali Jinnah in the museum and apprised him of its historical significance.

During the visit, the Italian Ambassador inspected the rare and historical artifacts preserved in the museum. The rauthorities gave her a detailed briefing on the history of the museum, the beginning of the railways in Pakistan, its evolution and the equipment and materials belonging to different periods.

The Italian ambassador expressed special interest in the rare items of the British era, including the salon of the Quaid-i-Azam, and appreciated the historical heritage preserved in the museum.

She said that such places reflect the history and culture of any nation and their preservation is very important.
