RAWALPINDI: Two people were gunned down allegedly by their rivals in Gulistan Colony on Wednesday night, police said. According to initial police reports, Usman Zaheer, resident of Lala Zar and his friend Muhammad Siyaam, resident of Kallar Road were sitting at the Gulzar Market Gulistan Colony Lane 3 when the alleged killers appeared on the scene in a car and opened fire on them.

As a result, both sustained fatal injuries and died on the spot. The alleged attackers sped off from the scene leaving behind the weapon and car.

Rescue 1122 and police reached the spot. The police have recovered a pistol from the scene and shifted the bodies to the District Headquarters Hospital for postmortem.

The deceased were working at courts as stamp vendors. Police said that the motive behind the murder was financial dispute.

Meanwhile, a man gunned down his brother-in-law over getting the marriage of his choice with his sister in the Jatli area on Wednesday.

The police shifted the body to the hospital for postmortem and after collecting evidence, registered a case. Police officials said that raids are being conducted to arrest the accused and he will be arrested soon.
