BATTAGRAM: Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam-Fazl former member of National Assembly, Qari Muhammad Yusuf, was laid to rest here on Monday.
JUI-F provincial chief Senator Attaur Rehman, Mufti Kifayatullah, religious scholars, students, party leaders, and people from all walks of life attended his funeral.
Qari Muhammad Yusuf, who was elected MNA in 2002 and 2013, also served as the party’s district Battagram chapter chief for six terms. His affiliation with JUI-F started from his student life and remained loyal to his party till his death.
His services as a religious scholar in the district also earned him great respect. After completing his religious studies from Madrasa Haqania and other renowned seminaries across the country, he laid the foundation of Ishaat-i-Islam Kaspul madrassah, where thousands of students are receiving Islamic education.
He also served the district in social, political, and religious arenas. During his tenures as an MNA, he remained loyal to his position, and there were no charges or allegations of corruption or nepotism against him. Political rivals in the district also testified to his fairness and honesty.
JUI-F provincial emir Senator Maulana Attaur Rehman termed his death a great loss for the locality, religious fraternity, and JUI-F. He added that Qari Muhammad Yusuf possessed great wisdom, through which he enlightened the area and his party.
