QUETTA: The provincial government has introduced new amendments to the Balochistan Government Servants (Conduct) Rules, 1979, making them more stringent.

According to a notification issued by the chief secretary with the approval of the governor, several changes have been made to the conduct rules governing civil servants. Under the amended rules, government employees have been completely barred from participating in strikes, sit-ins and protests.

The notification states that any form of strike will now be treated as corruption and misconduct. It further clarifies that holding two government jobs simultaneously will result in dismissal from service along with legal action.

Under the new amendments, government employees are not allowed to have any affiliation with private institutions, trusts, or NGOs. The formation or approval of any union or association will be subject to the consent of the chief secretary.

The amended rules also ban the display of posters and notices on the walls of government offices. Government employees have been prohibited from sharing official information on social media platforms.
