SUKKUR: An advocate and his relative were killed when the car they were riding came under an armed attack in Naushahro Abro village of Garhi Yasin taluka in Shikarpur district on Monday.

Locals attributed the attack to a land dispute between Jatoi and Brohi tribes which had left two men dead a few months ago.

They claimed that Advocate Ali Hassan Brohi and his relative Nazeer Brohi were killed in the targeted attack ostensibly by their Jatoi rivals in the land dispute.

They recalled that in the previous attack, a man, Soomer Jatoi, along with another person belonging to the Nareja community, was shot dead allegedly by Brohis.

One of the rival groups is headed by Sajjan Jatoi while the other was led by the deceased advocate, Ali Hassan Brohi, they claimed.

The area police have, meanwhile, detained four suspects for interrogation into the Monday attack.

Reports from the area suggested that armed men from both sides had taken positions within their respective village. The entire area remained tense due to the fresh killings.
