RAWALPINDI: The City Traffic Police have urged the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel towards Kutchery Chowk, if travel is unavoidable, they should keep in mind extra traveling time of 20 to 25 minutes due to the ongoing work on the chowk remodeling.

“While traveling, never violate one-way traffic during rush hour and avoid wrong parking on alternative routes so that traffic flow is not affected,” Chief Traffic Officer Farhan Aslam said.

The motorists, however, were experiencing significant delays on some diversion points and alternate routes of Kutchery Chowk Mega Project. A slight pressure of traffic was noticed at Rawal Road turn, Murree Road, Tipu Road and Murree Road at about 2 p.m. on Tuesday. Traffic congestion was also noticed at the Education office turn towards Committee Chwok, Moti Mehal turn, Mareer chowk and Sadar.

The city traffic police have been issuing the latest update about traffic situations in the city to keep the public aware of the traffic situation. Later, after the working hours, the traffic situation improved.

A spokesman for the city traffic police said that the traffic flow continued uninterrupted on alternative routes on the second day on Tuesday.

The CTO appriciated all the officers and personnel for their excellent performance of duties to keep the traffic flow.

On this occasion, Chief Traffic Officer Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam said that Kutchery Chowk is the busiest square in the city of Rawalpindi, where more than 200,000 vehicles used to pass on a daily basis, which was no less than a challenge to keep on alternative routes, but the officers and personnel of the traffic police not only made it possible with their tireless work, but also cleared the heavy traffic pressure during school and office hours in the shortest possible time.

He said that no traffic jams or traffic problems were faced anywhere in the city.

He further said that awareness banners have been displayed on all important roads for the convenience and guidance of citizens so that citizens can reach their destination easily.

Likewise, additional personnel have been deployed in all three shifts to keep traffic flowing on alternative routes, who are working hard to ensure traffic flow so that citizens do not face any traffic problem.

CTO Rawalpindi Farhan Aslam also thanked the citizens for making the traffic plan on alternative routes successful and following traffic rules.
