PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has urged the federal government to send a crisis appeal to the world after the recent widespread flood damage in Punjab and said cash assistance should be provided to people while using the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) without delay.

He said BISP was the most transparent network for the disbursement of cash assistance.

“I feel that there is a delay in the disbursement of financial assistance in the districts which are affected in Gilgit Baltistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa or south Punjab,“ he said, adding that he failed to understand why this was being delayed.
