MANSEHRA: Four people, including a woman and two children, were killed and another 25 sustained critical injuries when a passenger jeep plunged into a deep ravine in Kozparo area of the Kolai-Palas district on Tuesday night.

Police said the vehicle, carrying around 30 passengers, was travelling to Barpalas Dara village from Sergaziabad. The driver lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn. As a result, it skidded off the road and fell into a ravine.

Police and locals rushed to the scene and retrieved the injured and shifted them to a nearby health facility.

Doctors, however, confirmed that three people died on the way, while another succumbed to injuries at the hospital.

Police said four members of the same family, including Mohammad Adalat, his wife Nafeesa Adalat, and his sons, five-year-old Sharif Adalat and three-year-old Abuzar Adalat, were among the critically injured.

They were later referred to Ayub Medical Complex Hospital, Abbottabad, along with other critically injured passengers.
