BAJAUR: The district administration on Sunday allowed the residents of five more villages of the restive Lowi Mamund tehsil to return to their homes after authorities declared the areas clear of terrorists.

“This is to inform that by the grace of Allah, security forces have successfully cleared the following five more localities of Lowi Mamund tehsil of militants, bringing the situation back to normal and restoring a complete write of the state there,” said a notification posted on the official Facebook page of deputy commissioner late on Sunday evening.

As per the notification, Serri Mulanan, Serri Miagan, Landai Kalan, Bilal Masjid Tarkhoo and Shamsheer Gar Qala Tarkhoo have been cleared of terrorists. So far six areas of Lowi Mamund have been declared cleared of terrorists. Tarkhoo village was the first to clear of terrorists on Friday.

The notification said that residents of those villages, who were displaced owing to the presence of terrorists, could return to their homes with their personal belongings for a peaceful life, under state’s complete security.

It said return of all affected residents of other areas of the region would also be started once their areas were cleared of terrorists.
