Black Panther’s son shocks Wakanda as new king

In Marvel Knights: The World to Come, T’Challa’s adopted son Ketema is revealed as the future King of Wakanda — shocking fans not just because he defeats Black Panther in battle, but because Ketema is white.

Issue #2 explains Ketema’s origins: he’s the biological son of Everett K. Ross, T’Challa’s old US ally and Ross’s late partner, Nikki Adams, sister of T’Challa’s former friend. After both parents seemingly die, Nikki’s mother secretly hands the new-born to T’Challa, who adopts him. Years later, Ketema challenges T’Challa for the throne.

Despite efforts to stop the fight, T’Challa surrenders and Ketema becomes king — setting the stage for future conflict in Wakanda.

Directed by Prince himself, the film had long been unavailable until its streaming return in 2022. IMAX has digitally remastered the film for this special theatrical run.

Spider-Man faces Godzilla in MU

Marvel’s Godzilla Destroys the Marvel Universe continues to raise the stakes in issue #2, out August 20. The miniseries, by Gerry Duggan and Javier Gárron, shows heroes desperate to survive as Godzilla lays waste to the Marvel Universe.

In new preview pages, an older Reed Richards may have removed the Baxter Building from time itself in a bid to study the monster. Meanwhile, Venom takes on Godzilla with disastrous results and the symbiote might even try bonding with the beast. With New York in ruins, heroes and villains alike are forced to unite. A battered Spider-Man teams up with Doctor Strange, but hope is fading fast as the situation grows direr.
