Summer friction

This is regarding the story “Summer friction” by Wasfa Khan (YW, September 12).

I found this story funny because even grown-ups can lose their temper over small things. I have seen people arguing on the road over things that are not even worth fighting about.

The story also showed how heat and frustration can affect our moods. I think both drivers were right to apologise rather than make the situation worse.

II

I liked how the two drivers went from shouting at each other to shaking hands in the story “Summer friction” by Wasfa Khan.

Sometimes, when I am tired or hungry, even little things annoy me. Later, I realise my mistake. The story reminded me to take a breath before reacting in anger. A small argument can spoil everyone’s day, but saying sorry can make things better.

Cook-it-yourself

This is with reference to the Cook-it-yourself section, “Mini apple pies” by Muhammad Umar Shaheen (YW, September 19).

I loved this recipe because it was simple and made for a single serving. The cinnamon and apple filling sounds delicious, and the vanilla frosting was a nice finishing touch. It is always satisfying to make something tasty with your own hands.

To the moon and back

This concerns the article “To the moon and back” by Anabia Parekh (YW, September 12).

I have always wondered what it would be like to look at Earth from space. This article explained very nicely how the Artemis II astronauts travelled around the Moon and returned safely.

It also made me realise that space exploration depends not just on astronauts, but also on the many people working on Earth to make these journeys possible.

Behind the perfect profile

This is regarding the story “Behind the perfect profile” by Hurain Mohy Ud Din Maan (YW, September 12).

People often create a perfect image of themselves on social media to impress others. Ayaan’s experience shows that pretending to be someone you are not can be exhausting and being yourself is far more important than seeking approval from others. We should not compare our real lives with the carefully edited lives we see online.
