SOUTH WAZIRISTAN: Armed men abducted a truck driver and two labourers while setting their vehicle on fire in the Ladha area of Upper South Waziristan on Sunday, the police said.

A police spokesperson said unidentified assailants intercepted a truck near Habib Kot, a suburb of Ladha.

The vehicle was reportedly transporting cement and sand from Makeen to Ladha for construction of a security post.

The attackers torched the vehicle, and abducted the truck driver, identified as Mohammad Ullah, along with two labourers, whose names could not be identified.

Following the attack, security forces launched a search operation in the area for abductees and track down the perpetrators.
