Marvel & DC expand crossover with new hero duos

Over 20 years after JLA/Avengers, Marvel and DC are officially teaming up again — starting with Deadpool/Batman #1, set to release on September 17. It includes three new backup stories, uniting heroes from both universes:

Daredevil/Green Arrow by Kevin Smith and Adam Kubert; Captain America/Wonder Woman by Chip Zdarsky and Terry Dodson, and Krypto/Jeff the Land Shark by Kelly Thompson and Gurihiru.

Each pairing will feature variant covers from top artists.

Marvel editor Mark Basso teased more crossovers to come, calling this just “the beginning.” The main story — Deadpool and Batman — comes from Amazing Spider-Man writer Zeb Wells and Batman artist Greg Capullo, marking the first official Marvel/DC crossover since 2003.

Absolute Batman to run for 30+ issues

DC Comics’ top-selling title, Absolute Batman, isn’t slowing down anytime soon. Writer Scott Snyder confirmed the reimagined series will exceed 30 issues, with plans stretching into 2027. The series, which launched in 2024 as part of DC’s Absolute Universe, has remained a sell-out hit, both critically and commercially.

Snyder reaffirmed his two-year commitment alongside artist Nick Dragotta, promising fans more of the gritty, axe-wielding Batman.

Han Solo returns in a new Star Wars comic set

Marvel Comics is launching Star Wars: Han Solo — Hunt for the Falcon, a five-part series debuting in September, set between Return of the Jedi and The Force Awakens. Written by Rodney Barnes with art by Ramon Rosanas, the comic follows Han on a galactic quest alongside Leia, Chewbacca, and Lando.

Also arriving is Boba Fett — Black White & Red, part of Marvel’s Black White & Blood imprint, featuring standalone stories of the bounty hunter’s fiercest missions. The first tale, The Impossible Job, is penned by Benjamin Percy with art by Chris Allen. Both series promise major revelations and are now available for pre-order.
